COVID-19 Update: Please be sure you are checking your emails for rescheduling of the TEAS test if you have registered for a testing date.
All unpaid entries and entries of those who do not have a current, paid application with CASPN will not have a held spot on the schedule.
***Please see information regarding TEAS test registration for remote testing or testing with a different facility here.***
Please make sure to read and understand the following BEFORE you call or register online for the exam.
The Capital Area School of Practical Nursing requires prospective students to take the ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) pre-entrance examination. All applicants are required to take and pass the pre-entrance examination regardless of college hours or ACT scores. Applicants may take the TEAS exam three (3) times per calendar year. However, TWO WEEKS must have passed since your last exam date before you can test again. You must achieve an individual score of 54% in each portion of the exam excluding Science. Therefore a score of 54% in Mathematics, 54% in Reading Comprehension, and a 54% in English along with a score of 40.4% in Science must be achieved to be considered a passing score.
The first step to requesting an exam date is to apply to our program. This requires the Personal Information Form, or Online Application, and the Release of Criminal Background Form, found in the application packet, along with the $75.00 application fee. If you have not paid the application fee and submitted the required forms, your request to take the exam will be DENIED AND YOU WILL NOT BE REFUNDED IF IT HAS BEEN PAID ONLINE.
The second step to requesting an exam date is to pre-pay. There is a $65.00** non-refundable examination fee per test that must be pre-paid. You can reschedule an exam for a later date, however no refunds for participant cancellation or exam availability will be offered. The examination fee must be the exact amount only. Cash or money order made payable to CASPN, or online payment via credit card, are valid means of payment. NO personal checks will be accepted. The TEAS exam fee may change without notice.
Applicants must pay the examination fee AT LEAST one (1) week in advance to schedule an exam date. If CASPN has not received payment by the week prior to your exam date, you will not be allowed to take the exam on the requested date and it is up to you to reschedule your TEAS exam.
The final step to requesting an exam date is to register.
REGISTER FOR YOUR EXAM EARLY!
The pre-entrance exam is limited to thirty-four (34) applicants. For each exam date you must call the school or register online. Exams are first come, first serve. Should the exam date you choose be filled prior to receiving your paid request, the Admissions Specialist will contact you to reschedule. You will not be contacted otherwise. Again, no refunds for exam availability will be offered.
